You should never have to pay to sign up as a mystery shopper. Legitimate mystery shopping companies will not charge you a fee.

We are required by law to report income over $600 per year to the IRS. We are also required to verify that our shoppers are legally eligible to work in this country. The application process through our website is very secure.
Our database has a perfect 10-year history of protecting shopper information. The Shopper Profile page is secured by SSL, using Comodo encryption. Vital data such as SSN and EIN tax IDs are encrypted at the database level, making it human-unreadable at the database level.

Yes, for most assignments you will need to complete a mystery shop report on-line. They are self-explanatory and if you’ve read your assignment instructions, you should have no problems filling out the report.
It is a good idea to keep your records for at least a year for tax purposes.
We pay on the 15th of the month following the completion of your assignment. For example, if you completed your assignment in June, your payment will be processed on July 15th.
PayPal is a quick and secure way for us to pay you for your assignments without your having to give us your financial information. If you do not already have a PayPal account, log onto www.paypal.com to set one up.
The pay rate varies from assignment to assignment, depending on a number of factors. You will be told up front how much an assignment pays before you commit to doing it.
You are never required to accept an assignment. Not accepting an assignment will not affect your rating.
The length of time you have to complete an assignment differs, depending upon the guidelines set by our client. You will know ahead of time the due date of an assignment before you accept it.
A great way to learn how to become a better mystery shopper and increase your changes of being assigned jobs is to become Silver or Gold certified through the Mystery Shopping Providers Association. Also, being diligent about completing your assignments on time and accurately will raise your rating and make you eligible for more assignments. MSJobBoard is also a great tool for getting more jobs.
A rating is a scoring system that reflects how well you perform your assignments. When you first become a mystery shopper with Measure Consumer Perspectives, you will have no rating. As you complete assignments on time and accurately, your rating will raise. The highest rating is 100%. Shoppers are rated on grammar, spelling, consistency, detail, and speed of submission. Deductions in rating could be caused by not finishing the assignment on time, canceling the assignment, not providing the required documentation, or grammatical and spelling errors.
Once you accept an assignment, we expect you to complete the job in the required time frame. It is imperative that you carefully read the shop instructions and follow them to the letter. We need your reports to be accurate and detailed, with the proper documentation included. We expect you to not draw attention to yourself and not reveal yourself as a mystery shopper. Do not take your assignment instructions with you inside the business and do not be obvious about writing notes. If the employees know you are a mystery shopper, they will behave differently.
You will work with both a scheduler and an editor when doing your shop. The scheduler will make sure that you perform the shop during the required time frame and the editor will make sure you have completed the assignment within the parameters required by the shop description. It is imperative that you watch your e-mail for 24 hours after submitting a shop to ensure that the editor does not have questions that need to be answered before the results of your work can be sent to the client. We need you to answer any questions immediately.
When we assign a shop, we have a time frame set by the client that must be met. If you accept the assignment, we expect that you will fulfill the commitment for a timely and accurate completion. However, we know that emergencies happen. If you contact us immediately, we can try to work with you on either adjusting the date or reassigning the shop. Canceling a assignment the day before or day of a shop can affect your shopper’s rating. The sooner you contact us for help, the more likely it is that we can resolve the situation without it affecting your rating.

Any reimbursements provided are written out in each individual shop description. We do not reimburse for gas or mileage unless it is specifically called for in the shop description. Be sure to keep a record of your mileage for your own tax purposes.
There are times when we have very specific needs regarding a shopper. For example, we might need a CPA or a Registered Nurse. If you could provide us with a friend or family member who meets the criteria and is able to complete an assignment for us, we would then pay a referral fee.
If you have narrowed the search to your state or zip code and you do not see available assignments, then there are none available at this time. Check back on a regular basis as we are constantly updating our database.
Pen, stapler, a stopwatch, digital camera, digital voice recorder that records in WAV or MP3/ MP4 formats; or smartphone that has a stopwatch, camera, and voice recording features. It is not required to have your own digital recording device but having one would increase your likelihood of getting assignments.
Most office stores have digital audio recorders. Your smartphone likely has one as well. If not, there are apps available. Ensure that the format you are recording in is WAV, MP3/MP4. Measure sells hidden camera equipment. Full sets can be purchased for $400. This includes the mini DVR, spy camera, SD card, and charger. If interested in purchasing, please contact our office.
If for any reason you are unable or unwilling to perform mystery shops, you can visit our website and log-in using your e-mail address and password. Then enter the My Profile section at the top of your Shop Log and look for Account Status. There you will find a link to change your account status. Click on that and you can revise your settings to either deactivate your account or change your e-mail preferences.
This is a scam! We never mail checks to shoppers for assignments. Do not cash this check under any circumstances. You will lose money because the money is taken by the scammers from your bank account. We would appreciate it if you would send the check and any other included documents to us so that we can turn them over to the FBI.
Yes! We realize that everyone has contacts with business owners who could use our services. If you know of a company, that you have direct contact with a decision maker, refer us. We provide referral fees to shoppers who can refer us the decision maker. To learn more, please call our offices. We also recommend taking surveys. These are two companies that are legitimate, and pay for people to complete their surveys: Survey Savvy and Opinion Outpost.
Audio and video mystery shopping is the process of evaluating a business exactly in the same manner as a standard mystery shop or audit. However, for an audio shop, the shopper is wearing hidden digital audio recording equipment to record the experience. For video shops, the shopper is wearing hidden video camera equipment.
No, we do not provide training for video mystery shopping. However, we do have documents that demonstrate best practices.
